Shot during Fleet Week 2008, this documentary takes a look at life onboard a United States Navel ship, featuring some of the South Florida sailors who help navigate the seas.

Premiers on Monday, June 30th at 7 p.m. on WLRN, with an encore presentation on Wednesday, July 2nd at 10 p.m.

A reception in honor of BMCS Mike Winans, USCG Officer in Charge USCG Aids to Navigation Team - Ft. Lauderdale, will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Two (2) free drinks, free buffet, entertainment, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and 2 for 1 drinks until 9pm.

Change of Command Ceremony

Change of Command CeremonyOn Friday, 6 June 2008, at 10:00 AM, Master Chief Boatswains Mate Mark J. Mello, Officer In Charge of the USCGC GANNET (WPB 87334), will be relieved by Master Chief Boatswains Mate Timothy M. Knutson at the USCG Station Fort Lauderdale.

Master Chief Mello asked to pass the word that any of his friends and supporters from the Navy League and Broward Navy Days, Inc. that would like to attend the Ceremony will be welcome. Master Chief Mello has done an excellent job and deserves our support as he moves on to another position in the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale is located at 7000 North Ocean Drive, Dania Beach, FL 33004. Directions to the Station are:

US 1 to Dania Beach Blvd; Dania Beach Blvd. East across the Intracoastal to Ocean Drive; Ocean Drive North through John Lloyd Park to the Station.
